UPC Cablecom goes live with AND

 

Swiss cable-operator starts operations with AND SystemSolution

Confronted with the situation that their networks were documented in countlless formats the Zurich-based operator Cablecom decided in 2007 to initiate a mamoth redocumentation project to bring all coax documentation for almost 2 million subscribers under the AND 3.3 banner. Following this, the data in its entirity was to be transfered to the next generation AND SystemSolution 4.0.

 

Now Cablecom has announced "GoLive" following the successful migration of the complete documentation to the AND SystemSolution, Europe's leading solution for the design and documentation of HFC, FTTx and DTH networks. The new system also has a SOAP interface to Cablecom's address management system ensuring AND users have the latest address data.

 

Cablecom is Switzerland's largest cable operator providing its 1.9 million subscribers with cable television, broadband Internet access, and mobile and fixed network telephony. Cablecom’s customers are located in three regional clusters, including the major cities of Bern, Zurich, Lausanne, and Geneva. Its nationwide network is for the most part upgraded to two-way capability, with almost 80% of its cable homes passed served by a network with a bandwidth of at least 650 MHz. Cablecom is a national subsidiary of UPC Broadband, the European cable network group of Liberty Global Inc.
